BREAKDOWN 03 · PAID
Two friends acting out a gunfight in a hallway, one of them holding a selfie stick. Everything below is how it got from there to here.
The whole scene was worked out beforehand and then played straight through in a flat, on a phone, in the middle of the day. A selfie stick stands in for the rifle. The second man is down the hallway in a yellow shirt, firing with his hands.
Nothing in the room is hidden or dressed up, and that is the point. The performance and the camera move are the real work — the model rebuilds everything around them, but it cannot invent the timing.
Same beats, same camera, same faces. The hallway becomes a shelled corridor, the selfie stick becomes a carbine, the yellow shirt becomes an olive field uniform. Every movement lands on the original timing.
Both soldiers are built as four-panel sheets before a single frame is generated: front, back, side, and the face on its own. The face panel is what keeps each man himself once the helmet and the plate carrier go on.
The props get the same treatment. The prompt calls each one by name and never describes it twice — a pill bottle, a flashbang, two full kits.
One prompt, 74 lines, 3,142 words, in 18 named sections. It does not describe a scene and hope — it pins down what must not change, then rewrites everything else: wardrobe, weapons, architecture, lighting, grade, and every sound, beat by beat to the tenth of a second.
SCENE CONTEXT Interior of a shelled apartment block in an active war zone, overcast daytime, one continuous handheld take driven by the source clip. A soldier in ACU camouflage holds the corner of a wrecked corridor junction, swallows painkillers, draws fire from an enemy rifleman standing down the straight corridor, banks a flashbang off the corridor wall and shoots the blinded man. ACTIVE REFERENCES @video1 — the source take and the base of this shot. Two men playing out a corridor gunfight in a lit residential hallway, one in a navy polo with a backpack holding a pale tube, the other down the hallway in a pale yellow shirt miming shots with his hands. Copy it frame for frame: both men's faces, builds, hair, every movement, flinch, crouch, throw, aim and fall…
